Brand & Designer
TOYKEAT is a Seoul based fashion house founded in 2013 by Enjoo Lee.
Enjoo received BA in both fashion design and surface design in Sung Kyun Kwan University in Seoul before attending Parsons School of Design in New York City. During the years of Parsons, she went on to serve an apprenticeship with Derek Lam, before joining Zac Posen and, later, Rachel Roy.
Upon graduation in 2008, Enjoo began her professional fashion career assisting Jackie Rogers who is known for the last New York haute-couture designer and later she supported an American bridge-priced womenswear label, Helios & Luna, until 2012
2012 is the turning point year, with her moving to Seoul leaving midtown Manhattan and she launched her own fashion label, TOYKEAT, with her unique vision on fashion.
What she puts in TOYKEAT is “playful yet neat” and most of her interest for rhythmic ragtime music and jazz piano beats to generate the bouncing urban chic styles, just like a springy & lively music of her beloved Finnish jazz band, Trio Töykeät, which the brand got named after.
The idea which lies beneath is to mix and match the fundamentals of well-constructed clothing and unconventionality of young generations to create free-form sophistication. The collection produced in Korea by highly skilled local manufacturers, incorporates Enjoo’s endeavor to achieve the expert craftsmanship, importance of quality and refined aesthetic.
